Our goal is to help facilitate communication and the sense of community between the parents, faculty and the neighbours of Berlin International School . In our capacity as the PTA Chairpersons, we would like to
Provide a structured forum for communication between faculty and parents
Help integrate new families into B.I.S.
Support special programs which strengthen the B.I.S. community
We wish to provide good service and encourage your feedback and ideas. In order to give you the opportunity to communicate with us, a PTA mailbox is located in Mr Beforts office. In addition we can be contacted via e-mail at pta@berlin-international-school.de or at our private e-mail adresses posted at the PTA boards Primary/Secondary school.
Please join us for the regular PTA Meetings, which are open to all parents, for the opportunity of direct communication between the entire PTA, the teachers representatives and the school faculty.
We are looking forward to your active involvement and ideas to support continuous improvement at B.I.S.

The PTA Newsletter
is published regularly after the PTA Meetings. Deadline for submission of articles is one week after the PTA Meetings. Initially started by the Kita & Primary PTA in 2002, the Newsletter soon included articles from the Secondary PTA and today is open for all students, parents, teachers and educators of B.I.S. and Kita International. Publication is electronic; the latest issues are availble for download from the School’s website at http://www.berlin-international-school.de . The aim of our PTA Newsletter is to disseminate news and information and to strengthen our growing B.I.S. community of students, parents, teachers and educators.
If you have a photo (digital or print) from life at our school or a newsletter contribution (article on school or PTA events, field tips, help wanted, travel tips, restaurant tips, offer for sale...) then please send them to our PTA Newsletter editor.
The PTA Coffee Morning
is a nice get together once a month for all parents of Primary and Secondary School, organized by parents.
You do not have to sign in somewhere. You can come if you have time. We talk about school and private matters and we would like to help new families form foreign countries to make your life easier in Berlin , e.g.: Where are nice places to go with the kids?
Where are great shops?
Where can I buy International food?
Hopefully you will meet families from your home countries, which you do not know before. Maybe some German families can help others, who are new her.
We do have major issues for each Coffee Morning for example:
Parents Assembly:
Parents are planning sketches or songs and show their talents to the kids. They love to see mummy or daddy on stage!
Progressive Dinner (Teachers Dinner):
The parents invite the teachers in their houses for a course of Dinner. They will come (driven by other parents) in small groups and it would be wonderful if they could have typical food from all of your home countries and have fun!
We hope many of you will join us and we are looking forward to meet you at our next Coffee Morning!
